BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.22 percent to 3,203.7 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.5 percent higher at 10,942.83 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 759 billion yuan (about 105.5 billion U.S. dollars), down from 799.8 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares of non-metallic mining and hospitality companies led the gains, while auto manufacturing stocks suffered some of the biggest losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.37 percent to close at 2,198.86 points on Monday.
