1st LD-Writethru: Chinese Shares Close Higher Monday

Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.42 percent to 3,385.61 points.

   The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.47 percent higher at 11,855.48 points. 

   The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.121 trillion yuan (about 163.22 billion U.S. dollars), exceeding 1 trillion yuan for ten consecutive trading days and further expanding from 1.109 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.

   Shares in the sectors of oil and gas exploitation, home appliances and securities led the gains, while those in the cloud games and media industries suffered the greatest losses.

   The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.26 percent to close at 2,434.44 points on Monday.
