BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.25 percent to 3,046.53 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.1 percent higher at 9,988.83 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices totaled 868.58 billion yuan (about 121.02 billion U.S. dollars), up from 827.4 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to development zones, aircraft manufacturing, and electronic information led the gains, and those related to road and bridge construction and home appliances suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.2 percent to close at 2,009.21 points on Monday.
