BEIJING, April 27 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.67 percent to 3,285.88 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.28 percent higher at 11,217 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.04 trillion yuan (about 150.27 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.12 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the Traditional Chinese Medicine and insurance sectors led the gains, while those related to Internet e-commerce and gaming saw heavy losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.58 percent to close at 2,307.27 points on Thursday.
