BEIJING, June 19 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.54 percent to 3,255.81 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.29 percent lower at 11,274.05 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.1 trillion yuan (about 155.4 billion U.S. dollars), up from 1.07 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in sectors such as liquid cooled server and communications equipment led the gains, while those related to real estate, retail and beverage manufacturing suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.21 percent to close at 2,265.18 points on Monday.
