BEIJING, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.45 percent to 3,123.07 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.14 percent lower at 10,255.87 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 698.2 billion yuan (about 97.12 billion U.S. dollars), down from 708.3 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to the mixed reality industry reported major losses, while companies engaged in the photoresist and precious metal sectors saw significant gains.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.14 percent to close at 2,027.73 points on Wednesday.
