BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed mixed on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.73 percent to 2,967.4 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.01 percent lower at 8,848.7 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 703.24 billion yuan (about 98.68 billion U.S. dollars), up from 628.5 billion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
Over 3,000 shares closed higher across the board. Shares related to the copper cable high-speed connection and consumer electronics led the gains.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.16 percent to close at 1,683.43 points.
