BEIJING, June 11 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed mixed on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.76 percent to 3,028.05 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.07 percent higher at 9,262.35 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 702.9 billion yuan (about 98.8 billion U.S. dollars), down from 716.8 billion yuan recorded on the previous trading day.
Shares related to liquor making suffered big losses, while those in the electronic information sector led the gains.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.35 percent to close at 1,787.3 points Tuesday.
