TikTok-owner ByteDance has launched a pre-release version of its next-generation AI video model, Seedance 2.0, marking a significant step in multi-modal content creation and boosting shares of several Chinese technology and AI companies.
The company said Seedance 2.0 can combine images, video, audio, and text to produce high-quality, cinematic content. Users can control output via natural language prompts, and the model supports 2K resolution exports, generating results approximately 30% faster than its predecessor, Seedance 1.5.
In independent tests, Swiss consulting firm CTOL described Seedance 2.0 as the most advanced AI video generation model currently available, outperforming competitors such as OpenAI’s Sora 2 and Google’s Veo 3.1.
The launch reflects ByteDance’s strategy to lead the rapidly evolving AI creative tools market, targeting both content creators and commercial applications. Analysts note that the pre-release announcement immediately influenced market sentiment, boosting the shares of Chinese technology and AI companies across sectors.
