In accordance with the practice, standards and requirements before the COVID-19 epidemic, Chinese nationals will be allowed to use fast lanes for expedited border inspection on the following travel documents: Chinese ordinary passports, exit-entry permits for traveling to and from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, mainland travel permits for Hong Kong and Macao residents, five-year mainland travel permits for Taiwan residents, and permits of multiple entries valid for one year, said the administration in a notice.
The fast-lane services will also be enjoyed by foreigners who hold their passports and China-issued foreign permanent resident ID cards, and foreigners who hold electronic passports and residence permits with a validity period of more than six months, it added.
China will also restore its trans-regional services to process mainland residents’ applications for group travel permits to Hong Kong and Macao.
This means that mainland residents can apply for the permits at any entry-exit control department of public security authorities in the country, the administration said.
Mainland residents can also apply for family visit, work and study permits for Hong Kong and Macao at entry-exit control departments across the country, according to the notice.
The validity period of stay permits for mainland students in Macao will be adjusted from a maximum of one year to the entire duration of their studies in the special administrative region, said the administration.
