GRAZ, Austria, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) — Chinese and Austrian officials, entrepreneurs and representatives of the academic world were brought together on Friday at the 6th China Forum held here with the aim to boost China-Europe exchanges and cooperation.
Discussions at the event, which was hosted by the Confucius Institute at the University of Graz, focused on China-Europe collaboration in green energy, circular economy and digitalization.
The theme of the event is “China meets Europe.”
Noting that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the European Union, Chinese Ambassador to Austria Qi Mei said in her opening address that she hopes the delegates attending the forum can provide insights for deepening China-Europe cooperation.
Qi also called for more exchanges, dialogue and collaboration between Chinese and European young people.
Chen Wanjie, director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Graz, expressed his hope that the event will serve as a springboard for promoting interactions and partnership between China and Europe.
The bi-annual China Forum was launched by the Confucius Institute at the University of Graz in 2011.
