Artificial intelligence is a crucial driving force in the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, and China’s AI sector is showing a strong development momentum, said Shen Changyu, head of the China National Intellectual Property Administration.

China’s National Intellectual Property Administration has actively responded to the needs of new fields, formats, and models in artificial intelligence development with deepening IP system innovation in AI-related fields in recent years.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to accelerate the application of AI technologies in the field of intellectual property, promoting digital transformation and intelligent upgrades in intellectual property work to enhance governance efficiency.

In the future, China will actively promote the symbiosis, mutual empowerment, and integrated development of intellectual property and artificial intelligence, according to Shen.

Besides continuing to advance innovation in intellectual property systems related to artificial intelligence, the country will enhance protection and utilization of artificial intelligence intellectual property.

Furthermore, China will actively participate in the global governance of intellectual property in the AI field, promote the improvement of relevant international rules and standards, facilitate the development of the global AI industry, and enable AI technology to better benefit humanity, according to the report.
