China’s coal-rich province sees record-high PV power installed capacity

 TAIYUAN, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) — The total installed capacity of photovoltaic (PV) power in Shanxi Province, north China, had climbed to over 20 million kilowatts by the end of July, a new record, said local authorities on Friday.

   Over 19 percent of installed power grid capacity in Shanxi, the country’s largest coal-producing region, comes from PV power, according to the State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company.
