China’s Road Logistics Price Index Dips In March

BEIJING, April 30 (Xinhua) — China’s road logistics price index edged down 0.89 percent year on year in March due to the high base in the same period last year.

The index came in at 102.5 last month, according to a survey jointly conducted by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and the Guangdong Lin’an Logistics Group.

Specifically, the figure for full-truckload logistics, which mainly measures bulk commodity and regional transportation, dipped 0.9 percent from the same period last year to 102.6.

Demand and supply of the road logistics market both expanded in March, the survey noted, attributing the slight decline of the price index mainly to the high base of comparison.

Highlighting the sound performance of the macroeconomy in the first quarter of the year, especially in March, the survey projected that the price index is likely to see a mild rise amid fluctuations in April.
