Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.23 percent to 3,393.33 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.04 percent higher at 11,860.4 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.06 trillion yuan (about 154.04 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.12 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the sectors of coal and furniture led the gains, while those in the hotel and tourism sectors suffered losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.14 percent to close at 2,431.1 points Tuesday.
