Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.95 percent to 3,301.26 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.28 percent lower at 11,450.43 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.22 trillion yuan (about 177.45 billion U.S. dollars), up from 1.14 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the anti-COVID drug sector were among the greatest gainers, while those in the smart stereo sector saw the heaviest losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.91 percent to close at 2,341.19 points Friday.
