BEIJING, June 27 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.9 percent to 2,945.85 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.53 percent lower at 8,849.7 points.
