Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.32 percent to 3,264.87 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.48 percent lower at 11,149.01 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.13 trillion yuan (about 164.13 billion U.S. dollars), up from 1.08 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the media, gaming and anti-COVID drug sectors led the gains, while those related to hospitality, tourism, precious metal and car chips saw heavy losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.83 percent to close at 2,259.19 points Tuesday.
