BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed mixed on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.12 percent to end at 3,158.08 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.24 percent lower to close at 10,515.21 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 771.28 billion yuan (about 107.12 billion U.S. dollars), shrinking from 803.9 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to chips and real estate led the gains, while companies that focus on media and entertainment reported big losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.47 percent to close at 2,101.40 points on Wednesday.
