The Hang Seng Index opened at 21,070.05 points, up 655.96 points, or 3.21 percent. The S&P/ASX 200 index opened at 8,374.40 points, down 48.60 points, or 0.58 percent. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average opened at 39,375.49 points, up 214.99 points, or 0.55 percent. The Straits Times Index opened at 3,795.86 points, up 0.94 points, or 0.02 percent.
