Global leading food processing and packaging solutions company Tetra Pak unveiled a series of innovations including approaches in catering for smaller packaging and ready-to-cook food technologies at an industrial forum in Shanghai.
From June 25 to 27, Tetra Pak took part in the FBIF2024 Food and Beverage Innovation Forum and FBIF Food Innovation Exhibition.
In recent years, ready-to-cook foods have emerged as a significant trend, with packaging innovation playing a pivotal role, according to the company.
Ami Zhang, marketing services director APAC, Tetra Pak, said the company is exploring the high-end ready-to-cook food sector, with innovative efforts from their Tetra Recart packaging and flavors by Tetra Recart Laboratory.
Catering to the growing trend of small packaging, Tetra Pak has rolled out a variety of mini and portable packaging solutions, offering multiple options of 200 ml and below.
These innovations underscore Tetra Pak’s efforts to tap into sectors including nutritional functional drinks.
Jessie Ge, marketing services manager APAC, Tetra Pak, said the company has developed many concept products including protein functional drinks and elderly nutrition milk, based on emerging consumer needs for precise nutrition drinks and sports meal replacements in the Chinese market.
Other leading technologies include its E3/Speed Hyper filling machine, featuring e-beam sterilization technology, which is considered a new global benchmark for paper packaging filling speeds. The technology also helps reduce operational costs and enhance environmental sustainability for dairy companies.
