BEIJING, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.55 percent to 3,021.69 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.91 percent lower at 9,744.39 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices totaled 775 billion yuan (about 109.1 billion U.S. dollars), slightly up from 772.8 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to cross-border e-commerce and semiconductor led the gains, while property development and auto manufacturers suffered heavy losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 1.06 percent to close at 1,917.9 points.
