BEIJING, June 1 (Xinhua) — Chinese stocks closed mixed Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index flat at 3,204.63 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.39 percent higher at 10,835.9 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 986.6 billion yuan (about 138.96 billion U.S. dollars), up from 938.78 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the sectors of brain-computer interface and media led the gains, while those related to airports and traditional Chinese medicines suffered the biggest losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.59 percent to close at 2,206.43 points.
