In his speech at the celebration, Lao Minister of Industry and Commerce Malaythong Kommasith expressed the hope that the launch of the bromine project will lead the construction of industrial clusters in the future and contribute to the promotion of Laos’ industrialization, modernization, and urbanization.
Speaking at the event, Governor of Khammuan province Vanhxay Phongsavanh said that the project not only creates a large number of job opportunities, but also actively carries out social actions such as industrial poverty alleviation.
The bromine production project was launched in the Asia-Potash International Intelligent Circular Industrial Park, located in Khammuan province, some 250 km southeast of Lao capital Vientiane.
Bromine is used in a wide range of industries such as flame retardants, pharmaceuticals, pesticide intermediates, and is an indispensable resource.
